Allison Byrd is a peer specialist at the AIDS Care Group. She has been living with HIV/AIDS for the past 18 years, and has sought to dedicate her career to advocacy, outreach, and empowering men and women on taking charge of their health, and debunking myths about HIV/AIDS transmission and treatment. Ms. Byrd also serves on the board of ACG and Sharon Hill Medical, acting as liaison between the clients served and the management. Additionally, Ms. Byrd is part of the Positive Women Network (PWN) Philadelphia Chapter involved in advocacy for the health and wellbeing of women living with HIV/AIDS. Allison has been featured in the ‘Portraits of Inspiration’ book about women living with HIV/AIDS sharing their stories in their journey since diagnosis. In her spare time, Ms.Byrd  loves to spend time with her grandchildren.

Rahab (Mo) Wahome is serves as the Principal Investigator on the HRSA SPNS Peer Linkage and Retention Program for women of color living with HIV/AIDS at the AIDS Care Group. She has a deep interest in the intersection of culture and disease, immigrant health, incarceration and disease outcomes. Having lived in Kenya for 17 years, she delved into HIV and the black immigrant community living in Philadelphia while a student at the Dornsife School of Public Health at Drexel University. After graduate school, she helped steer the African Health Diaspora Initiative into a fully operation program conducting testing and linkage to care for black immigrants to the city health centers, published in the Journal of Immigrant and Minority Health and presented at various conferences including British HIV/AIDS Association (BHIVA, 2003), and International AIDS Conference 2014. Additionally, Mo is passionate about African health and development, photography, coffee shops, travel, and using art as a way to engage the youth in health discussions. She recently directed and was featured in a documentary focusing on healthcare utilization among first generation black immigrants. Ms. Wahome holds a masters degree in Public Health (epidemiology) from Drexel University
