Summer Learning Session 2020 (SLS '20) Objectives:

  • Strengthen collaboration on intervention implementation and delivery as evidenced by sharing best practices across subawardees
  • Explore impact of COVID-19 on delivery of client services and re-engagement, and share strategies related to recovery and resumption of service provision
  • Examine implementation strategies pertaining to the four E2i focus areas and specific themes
  • Enhance subawardees' specific Action Plans that will guide intervention activities for the first half of Implementation Year 4

  1. Subawardees will understand the scope of the COVID-
    19 pandemic and changes to service provision that have
    occurred as a result
  2. Subawardees will share strategies their organizations
    have implemented thus far to address the pandemic
    while maintaining quality HIV services

The E2i CCTA Curriculum Team will lead focus groups to gather suggested content for the written implementation guide component of the E2i toolkits.

A. Addressing Trauma During a Pandemic for Both Clients and Staff
Learning Objectives:
  1. Subawardees will discuss behavioral health issues, including vicarious trauma (experiencing secondary trauma based on what clients report experiencing), that have arisen for clients and staff, and what strategies could be used to address them
  2. Subawardees will discuss practices to support staff retention in the face of trauma caused by the pandemic
B. Telehealth Best Practices
Learning Objectives:
  1. Subawardees will share how they have been using telehealth platforms for delivery of their E2i interventions
  2. Subawardees will examine challenges and lessons learned from their experiences using telehealth platforms, with an eye toward sharing suggestions and solutions with other subawardees
C. Using E2i Data for Sustainability Planning
Learning Objectives:
  1. Subawardees will better understand E2i data through discussion with the E2i EC
  2. Subawardees will be able to use their site's data to support sustainability planning

Subawardees will examine re-opening or adjustment strategies to patient service delivery. Four subawardee representatives will share what their specific site is considering as they plan for service delivery after shelter-in-place orders have concluded.

  2. Subawardees will share approaches to service provision their organizations plan to adopt post-COVID-19
