Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Training for Opioid Addiction Waiver In-Person

‘Half and Half’ training, i.e. half online & half in-person

*Developed for the American Academy for Addiction Psychiatry

This course is suitable for providers who would like to obtain a waiver for their DEA license to prescribe buprenorphine products for opiate use disorder. The course is offered with a compulsory online component and 4 hours in person training.

Physicians:

Following completion of the in person training, the AACP will send a link to the online training half.  There will be three modules to review followed by a 20 question exam.  Once the exam is passed, a Certificate of Completion will be provide with instructions on applying for the waiver. On line training must be completed within 30 days of receiving the link.

NPs/PAs:

NPs/PAs can take the 8 hour waiver training and it will count towards their waiver application.  The additional 16 hours of training is available on PCSS at no cost: https://pcssnow.org/education-training/mat-training/

Residents:

Residents can take the waiver training, they will not be able to apply until they have a personal DEA number and an unrestricted medical license. 

 

This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™

This activity will be certified for ANCC contact hours (including pharmacotherapeutic contact hours) and will award AAPA Category 1 CME credit.
