Mississippi AIDSWatch 2022: “Fight Like Fannie Lou” is an exciting opportunity for Mississippians to come together in Jackson for two packed days of community building, education, and advocacy training for HIV/AIDS activists and allies.

Day One:

Arrival and welcome in Jackson, Teams organized + Team exercise

Day Two:

Education + Community Building

Community building, socializing, and educational programming with ‘Change the Pattern’ at the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum. Participants will be hosted for a kickoff breakfast with national movement leaders and spend the day learning, quilt-making and guided talks through the museum which tie-in historical activism with voter engagement, grassroots organizing and HIV criminalization.

Day Three:

Advocacy Training + Action

A day full of in-depth trainings on grassroots and community activism including policy and  legislative updates. Participants will learn and practice advocacy skills to help us all prepare for Mississippi’s next state legislative session in 2023.
